In detail: The watch department of the Ricoh Elemex Corporation (founded Takano Seimitsu Kogyo (Watch) Co. Ltd.) was originally Takano (Watch) Co. Ltd., under the ownership of Kiyoshi Ichimura. Now under the banner of the Ricoh Elemex Corporation. Apr. 1938 - Founded Takano Seimitsu Kogyo (Watch) Co. Ltd. On May 8, 1962, Kiyoshi Ichimura receives the position of the president of Takano Seimitsu Kogyo Co. Ltd., Ltd. He changes the name of the company to "Ricoh Watch Ltd." on July 26 of the same year. After the takeover and a transition period, Ricoh branded the watches with their own corporate name. Today, the company is known as Ricoh Elemex Corporation - that name change made in April, 1986.
