This is a officially licensed product by MGM Studios (Metro Goldwyn Mayer studios Inc.) and is an exact replica of the bowie knife used in the film by "Jim Bowie" who was played by Richard Widmark.
The Alamo film also starred John Wayne as Davy Crockett where they defend "The Alamo" from the Mexican army, sacrificing themselves to save the republic of Texas.
At one stage in the film you can see John Wayne admiring Jim Bowies knife, in this sequence you can clearly see the details of this replica knife, the only thing the makers have added is the "The Alamo" logo etched onto the blade.
The Alamo Jim Bowie knife is big! It is nearly 45cm (17.5") long from tip to tip with a blade length of 29cm (11.5"). The Bowie weighs 800 grams by itself (without the sheath). Included with the bowie is a leather belt sheath and a certificate of authenticity.
