A genuine hay box, the Netherlands, 1940s
I found this hay box while clearing the barn.
It was still in fine condition but terribly dirty,
and really smelled. The old hay ring was still in it.
I had to clean it and refurbish it,
and remove the old hay. Now it is in fine condition again
and can be put back to use. Now it has wheels underneath
for convenience, but these can be removed.
It is really a very useful thing. On the internet there are many
user manuals and recipes.
