Beautiful BENIN Bronze "Warrior" or "King Guard" figure from Nigeria (Benin) 2nd hald of 20th century - Possibly earlier "Warriors" were used for the protection of "court officials". Bronze figure created using "cire perdue", or "lost wax", procedure. The moulds used are lost during the casting process, making this a unique item. Very finely decorated and tooled statuette, created with an eye for detail. Height: 51 cm Weight: 5,153 kg Condition: good. Occasional holes in the bronze. Native wear and repairs/restorations. Carefully packed and shipped with Track&Trace
