Beautifully (actually even magnificently) restored but nowhere 'over the top'. Painted in a beautiful British Racing Green, but it is exactly in the right colour and just not too good, just not too shiny, to be credible. The upholstery is redone in authentic black leather, just exactly right, nowhere too beautiful or too smooth. This is precisely what makes this Austin Healey Sprite so charming, such an attractive thingummy, ostensibly built and rebuilt for an effortless second period of 50 years ... Please also look closely at the chassis, the bottom: you perfectly see what ‘is there', nothing is concealed anywhere, nothing hidden and no use of fillers anywhere. But everyone will see that the chassis and bottom are intact! Suspension, braking system, exhaust system, wherever you look, this car is one of a kind, a true find! The last known owner was allegedly an enthusiast with great fame. With oil in his veins and no euro signs. Austin Healey Sprite MkIII (1964 - 1966) With the exception of a few details pertaining to the lines, the Austin Healey Sprite MkIII is virtually identical to the MG Midget MkII. The engine still had 1098cc capacity but was stronger; the entire block became stronger due to the bigger and better crankshaft bearings. The MkIII got a new curved windshield, parking lamps and side windows in the doors which can be manually turned up and down. These now had door handles with locks on the outside and a soft top, but because of the soft top the rear suspension was adjusted; these were still leaf springs but the suspension and shock absorption were improved; thereby the weight of the car increased slightly. The value and durability also for sure! Engine specifications: 1098 cc, 59 HP at 5750 rpm and 88 Nm at 3500 rpm (from the manufacturer, we estimate this Healy has around 70 HP). Important characteristics Slightly older restoration, perfectly done, with an emphasis an authenticity and (preservation of) patina. Maintenance is fully up to date. Tyres and wheels are good. Comes with Dutch Periodic Vehicle Inspection. The engine starts quickly, runs beautifully and smoothly. Delightful sound, the exhaust matches perfectly with the (lightly tuned) condition the engine / car is in. The chrome work is magnificent but not restored too much. The interior is beautiful, sleek, light signs of wear, authentic materials. The exhaust system is in a good condition (stainless steel) -electrical installation works properly. Beautiful, almost new top, should be lightly cleaned. Suspension and attenuation (shock absorbers) in a good condition, therefore the car drives fantastic! As a bonus there is a matching luggage rack mounted with associated picnic (suit)case. Some extra luggage space is always welcome. Valued at more than 13,000 euro by a licensed assessor this week.
