Kutani - eggshell porcelain service - Japan - approx. 1930
Beautiful hand-painted Japanese service made of very thin porcelain.
Can still be used as a tea service or, for instance, as an eye-catcher in an antique cupboard or vitrine.
From Grandma's cupboard, who bought the service in the 1950s.
The service (still) consists of:
- 2 large plates (diameter 21.5 cm)
- 12 smaller plates (diameter 18.5 cm)
- 4 saucers (diameter 14.5 cm)
- 6 cups (diameter 10 cm; height 5 cm)
- teapot (18 cm high; 19 cm wide, incl. spout and handle)
- sugar bowl (13 cm high; 14 cm wide)
- milk jug (12.5 cm high; 13.5 cm wide)
The lids of the teapot, sugar bowl and milk jug have beautiful handles, consisting of two leaves.
Of 1 handle a small piece has broken off.
The other items are still in good condition.
