Lefaucheux revolver model 1858 intended for the civilian market, cylinder 6 shots, pin fire calibre 11mm, lock in single-action, round barrel. Improved version of the model 1854 with rounded trigger guard and without finger rest. The weapon is in original condition. The body is covered with surface oxidation with orange skin. Screws of the barrel and their threads are in good condition, a cleaning allowed the complete disassembly of the revolver. The wooden stock plates show traces of blows but are well preserved. This revolver works, however the lift finger does not always drive the cylinder causing a blockage, it does not seem well connected to its spring. Parts are however tight with relatively little play for its overall condition. The air gap is correct but the extraction rod is no longer on its axis. Admission door of the cartridge works very good. The chambers of the cylinder are clean, the rosette of toothed, or ratchet, well-preserved and the barrel presents stains but the grooves are still visible. All parts with the same number 43A. The serial number on the side is perfectly readable and shows a late production. The signature "E. LEFAUCHEUX BRte S.G.D.G. A PARIS" is still readable on the upper part of the barrel.
