A rare French World War 1 military trench knife made by Pataud Co. in Thiers. +/- 30 cm. This knife has no ferrule between the handle and the guard, which indicates early production. Possibly model 1916?
Some surface rust and signs of wear, but in good condition. See photo's for a good impression. Back of the hilt is in very good condition, dispite the shadow on that photo. No stamp on hilt tip.
Purchased around 30-40 years ago by my grandfather at auction house Wallis & Wallis in England.
