Sylvia Lefkovitz (1924-1987) After attending the Columbia University, the School of the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts and the Julien Academy in Paris, she made many trips to Greece, Mexico, France, Spain and Italy: so Lefkovitz could attain a wide training and access to many artistic possibilities, technically controlled by a strict discipline. In her oil paintings and drawings the stroke is essential and lean, with an uncommon variety of themes: seascapes, landscapes, figures and the eternal bond between man and Earth, for an all interior perception. Artworks of this are exhibited in private collections and also in the Redpath Museums of the McGill-Montreal University, in the Historical Museum of Batoche and in the Modern Art Galleries of Toronto and Montreal.
