Volvo - PV 444 - 1951
The holy grail of Volvo PV models, as connoisseurs call this car.
A truly unique car, this beautiful Volvo PV 444 was built in 1951. No doubt you’ve spotted the cluster of lights on the roof of this car.
Volvo fitted these onto the PV from 1950 to 1952. This version is by far the most sought after model amongst PV models.
This Volvo has had 3 owners, the last one since 1982, they owned the car for 37 years. A lot of history about the car is included, such as a newspaper article about this specific vehicle.
The car is equipped with the then optional floodlight. The pictured soft top can be purchased for 200 euros, which is half the market value.
Wooden housing for the spare wheel was fitted in the boot as standard in this model. What is remarkable is that it is still the original wooden housing. The wood they used at the time was not very moisture-resistant en fell apart easily. An indication of how sparingly the car was used and how well it was maintained.
A very well-maintained car which has not been used much, the car has driven 19,160 km from 1971 to 1981, or 1,916 Swedish miles. (1 Swedish mile = 10 kilometres). The mileage is now 38,354 km. It has the original B4B 1.4 litre engine, coupled with a 3-speed gearbox which shifts very well. It also has very good brakes.
The car is in very good and original condition. Two things must be mentioned, the driver's seat cover should be cleaned, and the lock of the glove compartment lid and cap of the interior light is missing. These can simply be ordered. Because the seller has many contacts in the Netherlands and abroad they can help in finding parts and spares.
The car is in Hengevelde, the Netherlands.
Insured transport throughout Europe is available at very attractive rates.
