Spanish painter and engraver, specializing in traditionalist and marine art themes. He was director and engraving teacher of the Escuela Nacional de Artes Gráficas, administrator of the Calcografía Nacional, correspondent of La Ilustración Española and member of the Spanish commission who visited the works of the Panama Canal. He studied under the tutelage of Carlos de Haes. He took part in numerous exhibitions, both individual and collective. He obtained two third medals at the 1884 and 1890 Nacionales de Bellas Artes for the works entitled El río Tajo en Lisboa and Marina, as well as a second one in the 1897 edition on the engraving section, and decorations in the 1895 and 1901 editions, also in that section.
